What we Americans know as "Jell-O" is called "jelly" over here, so Australians think a peanut butter and jelly sandwich sounds pretty revolting. Instead of peanut butter, the common sandwich spread is Vegemite, a concentrated yeast extract that tastes really salty and looks a bit like tar. And they think PB & J is bizarre?!?!I did finally begin to like vegemite (on toast with melted cheese on top), but Julia absolutely loves it and will lick it off of her toast.
My child is officially an Aussie...
