Singing in the Rain

A news channel last year interviewed families in the central parts of Queensland and found that some children as old as 5 had never seen rain. Matt and I both grew up playing in the sprinklers every summer, and I've never had to worry about having enough water (except at camp, maybe, when 100 people were all taking showers at the same time and water pressure was a trickle at best). Here, we watch every drop-- limiting showers to 4 minutes or less, watering gardens with buckets not hoses (and then only on certain days). The cars haven't been washed in months because Level 6 water restrictions don't allow. But.... Queensland is finally getting some rain!!!
We have had a glorious week of getting to play in the rain and splash in puddles. Julia has been in heaven!!

I love these photos of Julia in the puddles and in that jacket that we gave her ages ago. We're packing today in earnest to come see you!
